Product Owner

At bookU, we are in an accelerated growth phase, currently our team consists of 30 colleagues. Be sure to take a look at our Insta account to follow our adventures ;)

We are an ambitious scale-up with two innovative products in our portfolio. For one of these products, which is central to our growth strategy, we are looking for an experienced Product Owner. You will join a dynamic, growing organisation where your contribution will have a direct impact on our customers and business results.

Say what?

As Product Owner, you are responsible for translating the product vision, set by the CEO and founder, into concrete actions for a dedicated development team. You work according to Agile Scrum methodology and are the link between business, development and external stakeholders. With your strong business mindset, you not only monitor the progress of the product, but also make sure it is aligned with the organisation's strategic goals.

What will you do?

  • Product strategy and prioritisation:
    • Translate product vision into a clear roadmap and backlog.
    • Prioritise features and user stories based on customer value, business objectives and technical feasibility.

  • Stakeholder management:
    • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage needs and expectations.
    • Ensure that the product vision is consistently adhered to and communicated.

  • Development support:
    • Establish clear specifications and acceptance criteria for the development team.
    • Daily collaboration with the team to remove obstacles and ensure smooth progress.
    • Participate in all Scrum events, such as stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives.

  • Market analysis and customer focus:
    • Analyse market trends and customer feedback to identify new opportunities.
    • Ensure optimal user experience.

  • Quality assurance:
    • Testing delivered features against predefined acceptance criteria.

You who?

Pushing into a box? We wouldn't dare! But you probably recognise yourself in these points!

  • You have at least 5 years' experience as a Product Owner, preferably within a B2B SaaS environment.
  • You have a proven track record in successfully delivering software products within Agile Scrum teams.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can convince technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You have a strong business mindset and can translate commercial opportunities into concrete product decisions.
  • You are result-oriented, decisive and have an eye for detail.
  • Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, Confluence or similar platforms is a plus.

We, who?

Ok. So much for what the job entails and who you are. But who is bookU?

  • BookU is all about administrative simplification through intuitive software. And this is reflected in our hip ‘Silicon Valley-worthy’ working environment in the Texas of Flanders, Kortrijk (The Crib, Cotton Park).

  • Who says bookU, says youthful agility and accessibility, and we stick to that. No ivory towers or glass ceilings with us, just low thresholds and high approachability.

  • Of course, we like to be short on time in terms of supporting our customers, but we also like to play tout court. A cosy barbecue, a sporting challenge, an escape room, afterwork on our roof terrace... You name it! After all, you know what they say: work hard, play hard!

Whoohoo!

If there is a match, we would like to present you with something great:

  • A job with challenge and growth potential at a salary with impact according to your experience.

  • A job that energises rather than absorbs, because at bookU you can use the fitness at Cotton Park for free, enjoy bike leasing and meal vouchers (€8) to keep that body in tip-top shape for our next sporting challenge ;-)!

  • A healthy work-life balance via the work schedule that you can fill as you wish, including hybrid working, flexible hours and a nice 32 days' holiday.

  • Your professional development via the training budget we offer you, as well as your development within our team, through sultry barbecue sessions and crazy karting trips.

  • A lot of appreciation for how you develop yourself and expand our company.
